1. Introduction

VeloLog ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our AI-powered cycling training journal and related services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect:

  • Account data: name, email address, and password (stored hashed)
  • Journal content: entries you create (rides, workouts, races, notes, mood, condition, metrics)
  • Usage data: how you use the product (e.g., pages visited, actions) to improve the service
  • Payment data: processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Generate AI insights and summaries (e.g., via Google Gemini) using your journal content
  • Authenticate you and manage your account
  • Process payments for Pro subscriptions
  • Send you service-related emails (e.g., weekly summaries for Pro users, password reset)
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

4. AI and Third-Party Services

We use Google Gemini to power AI features. Content you submit (e.g., journal entries) may be sent to Google's APIs to generate insights and answers. Google's use of data is subject to their privacy policy. We also use Stripe for payments and Resend (or similar) for email. These providers have their own privacy policies governing their processing of your data.

5. Data Retention and Security

We retain your account and journal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your data in accordance with our retention policy. We use industry-standard measures (e.g., encryption, secure protocols) to protect your data; no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update account details and view your data in the app; for deletion or other requests, contact us. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell your personal information or journal content to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share data only as described in this policy (e.g., with service providers who assist in operating the Service, or when required by law).

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g., email or in-app).
